Th17 cells, a CD4+ T cell subtype, mounts immune response against extracellular bacteria and fungal pathogens by expressing cytokines such as IL-17 and IL-22. However, these cells have also been implicated in inducing autoimmunity. Cells are sourced from healthy donors from world-renowned blood institutions using Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved consent forms and protocols. Donors are screened for HIV-1, HIV-2, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, human T-lymphotropic virus, syphilis, Chagas and West Nile virus.
