Dendritic cells are highly specialized antigen-presenting cells that engulf and present antigens to adaptive immune cells such as T cells. They are crucial interface between the innate and adaptive immune system and essential for initiating adaptive immune responses. Myeloid or conventional dendritic cells are efficient at CD8+ and CD4+ T Cell activation and therefore cellular immunity against intracellular pathogens and tumors and humoral immunity respectively. Cells are sourced from healthy donors from world-renowned blood institutions using Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved consent forms and protocols. Donors are screened for HIV-1, HIV-2, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, human T-lymphotropic virus, syphilis, Chagas and West Nile virus.
